***a technical side-note having nothing to to with content** So, "fringe" in a picture (if you dont know) is when something dark butts up against something very light, and a blue, or red, or yellow halo effect occurs. This is generally frowned upon in the photography world since it is a tale tale sign of a cheap lens, and a very unobservant editor. This picture definitely has that fringe and the fringe makes me cringe (yes, rhyming intended). However, since it was shot on a toy camera (a $60- $70 plastic camera) I feel it is fitting to leave the fringe as a nod to the cheap camera which I adore.

Finally...

Taking wonderfully colorful pictures in Arizona's desert proves to be difficult. So, when my mom and I left for a drive to Texas, I of course took my camera, and FINALLY, I got another fabulously colorful picture. Take a look, will you?

Things I find interesting:
how stuff has moved around and changed since the day before.
how stuff moves around throughout the day in this picture.
how stuff is shown twice sometimes because it has moves.

You can tell a lot about a person by what is around their apartment. Do they feel good? Are they busy? What do they look like? What are they doing? Why?

I'll let you come to your own conclusions.

New Photo Site Just for India!

You may have noticed that my India pictures are gone. Well, they mostly got re-edited, but now I am completely done! I also edited even MORE for the organization that we went with! You can only upload a certain amount of pictures per month, on Flickr (which is what I used) so, the pictures that are up are the ones I sent to API! Stuff

I think I might have just started a new series. "Stuff." Don't you like my titles? They are to the point : ). While photographing people in the "Home" (another brilliant series name) series, I became intrigued by their stuff (or lack thereof.) I feel like we can learn a lot about people by the stuff they have around them. Mostly the stuff in the place that they feel most at home. There is a strong tie here to the "Home" series, but it is a little different. I want to photograph people doing their thing (I am apparently into motion right now too) in the place they are most often and feel free to dump their belongings. Does that make sense? Maybe it's their car, maybe its their room, maybe it's their kitchen:





If I print these, I really want to print them large. I feel like the details are important! You have to observe them to learn about the person in the photograph. I feel like these are biographies in a way. I want the person to be in their natural scene doing something they normally do with their space they way it normally is. I want the pictures to be honest. "This is me. This is my stuff. This is who I am."
